Labels we Love - Hale Van Traa (stuff.co.nz)
Posted on October 28 2010
Here's what Fashion Editor for Stuff and Dominion Post Fashion Writer Bron Williams had to say about Hale Van Traa on the stuff.co.nz site today.
Hale van Traa is the label that grown up girls have fun in.
The in-house label of Wellington clothing store Goodness, Hale van Traa is the brainchild of owner Chris Hales and stylist Justine Van Traa.
The pair may take finishing and fabric quality very seriously, but their designs are far from stern.
Bold silk blouses, buttery soft leather and fun floral dresses all feature in the latest summer range.
It's all about understated luxury with a European flavour - Justine and Chris look to international fashion trends and street style blogs for inspiration for the brand.
No kidding, this is serious sartorial stuff; it's sophistication in its most relaxed state.
The mix and match element of the collection is what makes it so great, everything can be worn together; a silk check smock top gives a cutesy touch to sassy shorts; throw that little leather jacket over a bold blouse and jeans to add a little diva to your weekend wear.
The pair take us on a trip to Paris with the navy stripe tee, and we can picture skipping down cobbled streets, croissant in hand wearing the soft cream skirt.
With such a limited run of each garment, you have to be quick to get this label in your closet.

Being exclusive makes it that much more desirable though right? It's why we love the label Hale Van Traa.
Thanks so much for these lovely words Bron. C&J x
